Benzu Minerals provides an outsourced management service to mineral exploration companies wishing to explore for minerals in Africa. Our service is tailored to the needs of the client, from planning and executing limited exploration programmes and due diligences, all the way to a full turnkey solutions where we execute the full mineral exploration programme from project inception to advanced stages of exploration.
In many cases we have been able to assist with identifying license areas with potential and making the necessary applications in conjunction with our client thus creating immediate value for our clients and their shareholders.
Our team has a combined exploration experience of more than 100 years across the African continent in a range of commodities including diamonds, gold, copper, iron ore, nickel, manganese, bauxite, base metals, potash and REE. One of our key strengths is the relationships and the network our team has in Africa which enable Benzu Minerals to assist clients by liaising with the relevant organs of State and in identifying all the relevant operational, regulatory and tax issue to be included in their plans and budgets.
Utilising Benzu Minerals’ service will ensure that there are no unexpected surprises with respect to the validity or duration of the clients mineral licenses, all aspects of an exploration programme are budgeted for, and work is conducted efficiently utilising the appropriate in-country and regional skills required. Additionally, we have assisted clients by putting them in touch with resource funds, investors and industry players with whom we have contacts on a regular basis.All the members of Benzu team are ‘Competent Persons’ in respect of international regulatory codes, thus ensuring the highest standards of work protocols and reporting.
Project generation and assessment
Since April 2009 we have assessed over 100 mineral properties in a variety of commodities and in a number of countries in Africa. Of these mineral assessments, 9 properties were secured and projects successfully proceeded to various stages of exploration.
It is of vital importance to define and determine whether a project area meets the criteria set out by the client’s management. This means quickly dismissing license areas or projects that may not be in the correct regional setting, that have poor or limited data, and that have precarious legal tenure issues. Whether your aim is to secure a new mineral license area, you are in discussions with a 3rd party to acquire a mineral license area or project, or have an existing mineral license area we are able to assist by:
- Discussing and recommending regional mineral exploration areas for a given commodity
- Assessing and/or recommending specific mineral license area opportunities
- Conducting legal technical and operational due diligence processes in country
- Liaising with Government and communities in country
- Designing exploration programmes and budgets tailored for the key objectives of the clients
Geological support and exploration programme execution
Our ability to complement an existing team or independently manage the planning and execution of mineral exploration programmes, ensures value is added to the exploration project for the client without having to suffer costs during inoperative seasons or long lead times in establishing internal capacity. This further ensures efficient service for our clients who can limit their market risk and focus on maximising shareholder value. The technical services we offer include the following:

All exploration data are collected and managed using industry standards in respect of database and information management, warranting the project data are always up to date and ensuring the completeness and integrity of the information.
Logistics and Administration services
Additionally to the technical services, Benzu Minerals can provide full turnkey project execution. The timely and cost-effective procuring of goods and services is undertaken by leveraging strategic relationships with providers we have utilised in the past and whom have a long track record of servicing the industry. Goods and services are procured at the best possible price at all times.
Services range from the supply and shipping of basic items such as core trays through to drill rigs, capital equipment or the design and erection of a fully functional camp and/or a dedicated sample laboratory, depending on the clients requirement.
On budgetary, accounting and administration sides, Benzu can once again provide a turnkey solution by integrating reporting on adherence to budgets, adherence to work programmes and compliance with mineral license conditions, environmental obligations and health and safety requirements. By combining our existing experience with digital accounting systems (e.g. ERP) we are able to provide management with quality integrated reporting which can be used for in-country purposes and also present consolidated financial management reporting at head office level on a timely basis.
